Why did Jerry and Esther Hicks create Abraham, the supreme being?

I’m reading one of Jerry and Esther Hicks’ books and am skeptical. Early in the book a supreme being called Abraham is introduced. The book essentially promotes a way of life. I’m OK with books that promote a suggested way of life. I may choose to agree or disagree. No one is putting a gun to my head. However, I don’t understand the need to create a character named Abraham. I wonder if it’s a way to make the book seem more credible. What are your thoughts on this?

charini asked:

I’m just curious since this is the Religion and Spirituality section of Y! A, to know how many have heard of and actually read the following:

Conversations With God, by Neal Donald Walsch
A New Earth, by Ekhart Tolle
Anything and everything by Doreen Virtue (Spirituality, Angels, etc.)
Many Lives Many Masters (and all other titles), by Dr. Brian L. Weiss
Titles by Dr. Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra
Edgar Cayce and (his reincarnation) Davic Wilcock
Louise Hay

Or do we only discuss the Bible in here?

Thanks, everyone!

Love and blessings to all!
More so, have you actually READ any of these works?
Brent, I just started reading CWG after a friend told me about it on Twitter. And… it’s been a wonderful journey so far…

All the other titles and authors are very familiar to me. Actually, they have a very special place in my heart and soul. I’m very grateful to all of them for everything they’ve done for me. And they did do and are still doing it for people just like you and me. :)

“Now if you’d asked about Mark Forsater (The Spiritual Teachings of the Tao), Chögyam Trungpa (Shambhala), Paulo Coelho or Benjamin Hoff (Tao of Pooh) …”

I’m familiar with those works as well, especially anything related to the sacred Tao Te Ching and Paulo Coelho (I’m a Brazilian born woman, like himself).

Many people, even in Brazil, really dislike Paulo Coelho’s books. I’m not one of those. I still remember the first time I read THE ALCHEMIST. It was as if a huge light bulb had gone on on top of my head (consciousness). LOL

Has anyone heard of the author, Louise L. Hay? If so, what are your thoughts of her work?

JB asked:

I just read the book, “You Can Heal Your Life” by Louise L. Hay and found it to be extremely helpful to me. I received so much healing of the soul from the wisdom in this book and wondered if anyone else has read her work and the effect it has had on your life.
Wow! That’s wonderful! I have used this book to cut back on unhealthy habits and it has been so profound and eye opening to me! I am now reading the book for the 2nd time and doing all the excercizes. BTW, it is the first book I have read in entirety in a long time. I usually get bored and toss the book aside. So it is amazing that I am actually reading it a 2nd time. I am discovering even more the 2nd time around! Thanks for sharing!
